How long does it take?
The Law states that the Department shall issue a registration ID card to a qualifying patient or caregiver upon receipt and approval of a complete application. Processing time is not specifically stated in the provisions of the law. The registration ID card is valid for one year from issuance. Application for renewal of registration ID cards must be submitted no later than sixty days prior to the expiration.
How do I qualify?
- Must have a qualifying condition or undergoing qualifying treatment
- Must provide physician’s written recommendation for the use of medical marijuana
- Must be a DC resident with proof of residency
- Written consent from parent or legal guardian for minor qualifying patients
