The Law provides that the Department shall issue a registration identification card to a qualifying patient or caregiver upon receipt and approval of a complete application. Processing time is not specifically stated in the provisions of the law.
The registration identification card is valid for one year and shall expire on the same date one year from issuance. Unless the card is renewed upon expiration of the registration, a qualifying patient or caregiver shall immediately stop the use and possession of medical marijuana until a new registration card has been issued. Application for renewal of registration identification cards must be submitted no later than sixty days prior to the expiration.
