2016 is predicted to be the biggest year for the battle against marijuana prohibition in the United States since 1996, when California became the first state to legalize medical marijuana, and 2012, when Colorado and Washington became the first two states to legalize marijuana for adults 21 and older. It is safe to predict that this year, more cannabis policy advances will be made.
Though many people are still hoping for President Obama to take more bold executive actions, it is more likely that he will give passage to stripping marijuana inhibitions in ways that will continue and solidify his administration’s actions thus far.
